![]() And there is also the issues with the Fantago sketchy stealing code from ffmpeg and likely even slysoft, among others :/ I rarely re-encode anything, but there are good free tools for both MPEG2 and HD streams and i can even use DVD or BD RB free editions until i can afford to donate for the Pro of the DVDRB (hopefully soon )Īnyhow, i switched from paying subscription to DVDFab to AnyDVD a couple of years ago, and couldn't be happier (well, I would be happier if it weren't just a subscription :P but a lifetime update software). Once it is decrypted I just use a bunch of free tools to do the other stuff I need to extract streams, re-link OP/ED of episodic discs, split DVD9 -> 2xDVD5, etc. So glad i switched to them, much better deal, imo. AnyDVDHD never has had any issue decrypting any DVD, HDDVD or BluRay I have thrown at it. I've suspected something for quite some time but maybe it's just coincidence.I used to pay for DVDFab, but it improperly decrypted many of my DVDs and HDDVDs (this was 4.x, 5.x builds, i had it thru start of 6.x but HDDVD wasn't supported anymore), and had many issues all around. The real question is whether or not their is an official connection between the author of MakeMKV and DVDFab which would perfectly explain the interesting timing and updates for both of these completely separate products. We all know they've incorporated doom9 work into their software before. Maybe it's just me but I don't think all the Blu-Ray work put into the DVDFab product is the sole work of DVDFab. Lastly, I can't help but notice some correlations between DVDFab and MakeMKV releases with regard to Blu-Ray.Heck, yet again, the most recent licensing change was a copy of Slysoft's licensing options. Between killing off their products and numerous licensing changes that screwed over their customers I really fail to see where DVDFab has any shred of integrity. The difference is that Slysoft has integrity where DVDFab doesn't. DVDFab, it would appear, is attempting to go toe-to-toe with Slysoft on all fronts.DVDFab now has a freeware virtual drive program.Probably as high as all the other software prices. I wonder how insane the price will be once they've used people to get the program to a stable point where they can charge. DVDFab Passkey is free while in beta testing kinda like MakeMKV was. ![]() They literally copied the forum rules word for word minus replacing DVDFab where appropriate. DVDFab Passkey in is a ripoff of the AnyDVD UI just like the official DVDFab forum is a ripoff of the Slysoft forums.Later after people waited and numerous people became very angry and they were effectively muzzled in the forums did DVDFab finally announce that DVD Region+CSS Free was a dead program. DVDFab did promise an update was coming and yet it never did and that constitutes a lie. I wonder if they will show any integrity and give this product to the customers they effectively screwed over and lied to when they simply stopped supporting DVD Region+CSS Free. DVDFab Passkey seems to pick up where DVD Region+CSS Free left off.The following are my thoughts/opinions/speculations and not those of anyone related to Slysoft: If I had to choose DVDfab PASSKEY or DVDFAB 7012 beta I would choose DVDFAB 7012 beta DVDFAB 7012 beta will identify the VTS number of the primary master main movie only. DVDFAB 7012 beta quite a few settings and options to set.ħ. DVDFAB 7012 beta can only rip to the hard drive uncompressed as a DVD-9 if you compress it to a DVD-5 you use up your trial version.Ħ. Output shows up as a audio TS folder and a video TS folderĥ. You would need another software program like DVD Shrink to do this.ģ Passkey only freeware while in the beta version.Ĥ. Passkey rips the entire disk and does not identify what the VTS of the main movie only is. Passkey ICON monkey keeps noding until the on the fly decrypting is complete and then a tiny square shows up.Ģ. Even if the VTS number gets re-numbered to VTS 01 after rebuilding to the movie only.ġ. To see which product is the easiest to use, and which product can identify the VTS number of the main movie only. Used the standard definition movie "UP IN THE AIR" Did some testing (playing) with the fab products, DVDFAB Passkey as compaired to DVDFAB 7012 beta.
